Planning for your funeral is part of planning your estate. Why do we not think that this is a part of estate planning?It has been so ingrained in us that we should not plan for a funeral till a death occurs. This is absolutely a change that should be rectified.When we wait till a death occurs, several things make it an emotional challenge for us. Financial issues more times than not are a common occurrence. We wonder where we will come up with the money necessary.Where would our loved one want to be laid to rest? Did our beloved want a traditional burialservice or to be cremated? By talking with our family about what our wishes are for a funeral before we pass away, we will eliminate those unanswered questions.When we visit the local cemetery and our neighborhood funeral home, will they treat us with respect, when we say we can’t afford the cost of the funeral services that we are asking for?

Remember that the funeral service of your loved one has to be paid, normally prior to the date of the funeral. Paying in payments over a period of time is not usually an option and if so, on a rare occasion.

Think about it, once the deceased is laid to rest, is there any way for the funeral home to take back the services that have been rendered, absolutely not. That is why the memorial service must be paid for in full prior to the date of the funeral.

By planning for in advance, the funeral can be paid for by depositing money into either a funeral insurance plan or a funeral trust account monthly for a period of time. Just think, how much easier it would be to take care of it that way for your family.

Remember by planning in advance for your memorial estate that is definitely going to send volumes of love to your family. Having not to make these decisions at that time will help them deal with the grieving process that much easier.

Also by pre-planning for the funeral in advance this will eliminate the financial burden that may be placed upon another family member who doesn’t have the resources necessary.
